KristenNash
Well Day 3 and I screwed up. I'm pregnant and I ate a piece of candy yesterday.. and my acne is at an all time AWFUL (it was before I was pregnant though). I turned to Paleo in July to help clear my skin up but I still made those "paleo treats" and wasn't 100% consistent. Somehow I came across Whole30 and liked the idea of eliminating everything and kind of "resetting" I'm not sure what my problem is but I'm TRYING. I want clear skin SO bad. I eat eggs, sausage, avocado, fruit, meats, potatoes, nuts......:::sigh:::one day at a time I guess....should have never went on birth control 10 years ago....ROYALLY screwed my hormones up. This weekend were going on a lake trip. I'm pregnant so no drinking which is easy! LOL But I know I'm going to be hungry because they will make pasta salads and have hamburgers and what not. Any ideas on some easy foods to bring? Boiled eggs are on the list for SURE. Advice and help are always appreciated.
Cporte12
I'm sorry to hear about the acne! I hope it clears up for you soon, I know how much it bothers me! On a side note, I have been using vitamin E oil mixed with an essential oil called frankencense. I don't use it every night, but after I wash my face at night if I'm starting to break out or if I have already, I use this. It really helps! When I wake up my face is much more clear and the inflammation of the pimples are gone. There are other essential oil that help too. Just something to look into if u have tried everything! Anyway, maybe you could bring lettuce leaves for the burgers.. Maybe a pack of foil- that way you could throw veggies on the grill, maybe sweet potatoes too since they're easy to make. I would have olives on hand in case you get the urge to snack. You will do great!

This is one of the reasons we encourage you NOT to eat fruit on it's own (or often in the mornings), because it makes you feel hungry sooner than if you'd not eaten it. Fact. Also what fat did you have with this meal?

Im sorry I forgot to mention I had half an avocado on the fritatta and the there was fat in the sausage. I can eliminate the fruit in the mornings. Maybe save it for lunch. Any other suggestions? It's generally best eaten later in the day as it has less of an impact on blood sugar. You might want to plan for a mini-meal/snack (made up of protein & fat) for the first few days until your body learns to go a bit longer in between meals. A boiled egg works pretty well here. Have you something that will tide you over until lunch time today? Try sipping on some water.....
