W30- Day 6 - I NEED a NAP

Recommended Posts

This is day 6 of my first Whole30 and I am trying desperately to stay awake at work... Pre W30, caffeine & bad carbs (Muffins anyone??) were my morning friends, now I'm muffin-free (except for the one around my waist). I prefer coffee without creamer & sugar so that's not the problem - why is caffeine failing me now? I have had no problem passing up the sweets & treat, don't even want them. Love veggies, but probably not getting enough healthy fats (I need to check into that more). Why can't I stay awake?

Hey there

It would be helpful to know what you've been eating so that we can check what you might need to tweak - but yes, fat provides energy so it's quite possible you need to be adding more to each meal. Also, what's your water intake like? Are you getting the recommended half ounce of water per pound of body weight, daily? Are you salting your food?

Meals have been protein, tons of veggies, and fruit. Definitely not getting the healthy fats - I bought an avocado but Haven't done anything with it  and definitely not drinking enough water. I'll work on adding both, meanwhile, I really need to get over this lethargy and sleepiness...zzzzz

You definitely need to be adding fat & salt, and do increase the water - it all helps.

For now get yourself into the fresh air if you can, go for a walk around your building, run some water on your face/wrists, make some herbal tea....

Just as an aside when we ask what you've been eating it's really helpful to get specifics so we can see portion sizes, meal composition, and even pin point problem foods if you happen to have digestive distress, anxiety issues, skin break outs etc. ;)
