1Maryann
I'm not a big salt fan, but I do like a little on some things. I can easily adjust when adding to a recipe, but when salting after the fact, like on fried eggs or a steak, I'm finding the sea salt too salty. It's probably due to the crystals being so much larger than table salt. Is there an easy way to grind it smaller? Will a pepper mill work, or is that designed for much larger peppercorns? Is there such a thing as a salt mill? Where would I find one?
Kirsteen
You can buy salt mills in any store that sells kitchen equipment or online from places like Amazon and Ebay but I've always just used a pepper mill and never had any problems.
Susan W
You can also buy very fine sea salt that is ground for you. I happen to adore those crispy flakes of salt, but I can see why it may seem saltier. Here's one I bought for cooking. http://www.amazon.com/The-Spice-Labs-Pound-Unprocessed/dp/B005EV2EJA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1350242947&sr=8-4&keywords=fine+himalayan+sea+salt
Wakeupman
I've been using fine ground Celtic Sea Salt which you can get at Whole Foods. It's great in any recipe that calls for salt but also as a finishing salt to sprinkle on your dish after it's done. Celtic Sea Salt is also great because it is full of minerals that the body needs. It is not the typical bleached table salt with additives that we have been consuming for far too long!
Andrea D.
I like Real Salt or the fine ground Celtic Sea Salt...but I really like salt.
1Maryann
Well, I stopped into my favorite kitchen store after work today, and bought a salt grinder, and some air-tight glass containers. And since they were having a 40% off sale, I finally picked up a mandolin. Can't wait to use it!
Kevin Remisoski
I like Real Salt or the fine ground Celtic Sea Salt...but I really like salt. That's like me with cake, because even though you can't grind cake, I really like cake...
