Zengirl Posted October 25, 2016 Share Posted October 25, 2016 Because Monday is such a cliché day to start anything - I am starting on Tuesday! Haha. I am a 57 year old female health care provider. I am hoping for more energy and to blast a little belly fat away. (It doesn't respond to abdominal exercises like I used to). And yes, increased clarity of mind would be great too props to my 27 year old daughter who has done 2 rounds and who bought me the books she even says she is ready for all the stupid, frantic, and/or air headed texts she is going to be getting from mom. Tabithabea Posted October 25, 2016 Share Posted October 25, 2016 so hello there my name is Tabitha and I was hoping to start my whole 30 today too. Bad news is I don't get to go shopping until this afternoon and my house is empty of food (was just on vacation) so I'm thinking of today as more of a day 0.5 instead of day 0 or day 1. I plan on being primarily compliant today with just my breakfast an uncompliant protein bar and my lunch possibly being a little out of whack (I still have no idea what I'm doing for lunch) depending on how early I can get to the store... This is my second whole 30! My first one went great I dropped probably about 20lbs and I dint even exercise! However I never felt the increased mood or energy because I was going through a rough bit of depression the last two weeks. So I'm looking forward to trying again! Things I plan to improve on this time is water intake. I wasn't horrible last time but I wasn't great either I plan on doing 80 ounces a day this time around! The other thing I want to improvement is exercise. That goal though I plan on starting next week . I'm still fine tuning the deatails on how much and how often my exercise should be! I don't want to set myself up for failure. So speaking of which. If you would like to call this your day 0.5 with me I think that would be acceptable. And I'd love to stat day 1 tomorrow with you. There's nothing about eating protein, veggies and fat that is going to hurt you but this is a mentally intensive program in the first couple of days so it may be reasonable to want to be in top form. I would suggest that even if you don't officially start today, you still take the program to heart. Don't go right off the rails or it'll just be harder later. I remember when I used to get regular migraines, the only thing that made it even remotely better, while waiting for the meds to kick in, was carbs. If that's the case for you, roast some potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots etc and eat as many of those as you need. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have decided to forge ahead, because I think the migraine was a sign that I really needed to do this! Plus I feel like on any given day I could find a reason to postpone. Lastly, I want to be finished in advance of Thanksgiving. have already made a wonderful egg scramble with veggies and some avocado (leftovers will be tomorrow's breakfast)- making a lemon and cucumber infused water bottle, and going to go to the gym. I won't push myself at the gym the way I usually do but don't want to blow it off either. If I need a catnap later I will take one. @Tabithabea, I am still with you though!!!
