Administrators ladyshanny Posted October 28, 2016 Administrators Share Posted October 28, 2016 Like drinking a bunch of salt water in order to make yourself vomit or poop? Absolutely no, that is completely against the spirit of the Whole30. The Whole30 is an elimination protocol designed to reduce inflammation, quiet sugar cravings and teach you how to nourish your body with real, whole foods. You'd then have to rebuild the good gut bacteria. The human body is designed to get rid of the stuff it needs to get rid of. It doesn't generally need anything to flush it out. Have meals that meet the meal template, including lots of vegetables. Drink lots of water (1/2 oz per pound of body weight, so a 120 lb person needs at least 60 oz). Get some kind of exercise or activity in each day. If you do have issues with constipation, you might want to try a daily dose of magnesium. For most people, these things are enough. MeadowLily
That goes for the new bulletproof coffee enemas, too. If you have a leaky gut, coffee...coming through the front door or backdoor won't help a leaky gut. The coffee bean itself and not the caffeine is another gut irritant. It adds to inflammation, especially for anyone out there with an ulcer. (It's a new take on coffee colonics).

Not to mention that, mimicking/forcing the reaction the body has when it senses an invader (food poisoning, stomach flu etc) is extremely stressful to your body overall.
