Marmighty
Hello any registered nurses starting tomorrow? I kind of started today, since my husband and I purged the not so good for us food yesterday. I am a little nervous having been so dependent on carbs/sugar for so long and not being able to function at work fully or being cranky. I am afraid that I won't be eating enough, I haven't been to hungry today.
Hopepavon
Hi, I'm a nurse who works night shift! I started on 10/31 and last night was my first shift on whole30. I packed a lot of food and drank tea and didn't need to finish the food I brought. The nurses I worked with ate mcdonalds, Tim hortons and a milkshake around me and there were pumpkin maple biscotti beside me allll night. I have to say, I felt fine with it. The only thing I really wanted was a cold diet soda lol. Are you days or nights?
snowflower
I'm an RN and started my Whole30 on 10/24. I start a new job next Monday and will be on days for 2 weeks, then nights for 3 weeks, then days. When hired originally, it was for overnights only, but they just asked me yesterday if I'd be willing to switch to days. It's less money, but will be better for me stress-wise [I think] so am going to stick with it. @Hopepavon Huge NSV with all the treats in the break room! YAY. Have you done a whole30 before? Hopepavon
I haven't done this before. I don't know the last time I went 4 days with no grain or sweetener. I still kinda feel like crap but I'm hoping it will get better soon. How are you guys doing?
Kfmomma
Hi there! I'm a fellow night-shifter also. I work 12 hour night shifts as a registered nurse in OB. I started Whole 30 on 10/26 and I'm 19 days in. The light switched for me at 2 weeks, when I didn't feel like I was STARVING in-between meals. I've discovered a lot of good meals that my family enjoys eating also. I pack healthy snacks to get me through the night on the nights I work. I'm on 8 hour days this whole week and then have my first 12 hour overnights starting next Sunday. Three in a row. I've never done that before, but I will have Thanksgiving off. LydiaJo
I'm a CRNA. We work an unspecified day, Some days I've gone home after 2 hours and some days I've worked 16 hours. All that plus call makes my days very uncertain. I keep lots of foods in my locker. LOL
