Day 12- Dry skin!!! Help!

Recommended Posts

HI there!

I am at the end of Day 12, and I am loving the food that I am eating, and this whole plan has really positively influenced how I have been cooking with my family. I feel great about all the great stuff that I am putting into my body. Unfortunately, my skin is FREAKING OUT. A few days ago my lips were puffy and rashy, and I was worried I was having a reaction to the cashews and almonds I had been eating so I stopped eating them. 4 days later my lips are mostly better, but my hands, shins, and feet are SO DRY and ITCHY. I know we are moving into the winter, and dry winter skin isn't uncommon, but this feels like a drastic change in a short period of time. Can eliminating certain foods make your skin react like this? I am DEFINITELY eating enough fats, and drink LOTS of water.

Thanks.

This is not really a normal symptom of Whole30... it could be that your hormones are rebalancing themselves and as they do so, they may affect your hair, skin and nails... nothing that should make you give up your Whole30 tho and potentially not related at all.

Here's an article about sort of what you're feeling. http://whole30.com/2016/06/is-this-normal/
