MegPiecry
Hello, I'm new to the Whole30. I'm in the middle of reading the books. My husband and I plan on starting soon after the holiday stress is over with. One thing I wonder about is DIY face mask and other spa-like items. Every once in a while I'll do a yogurt face mask. I've can't find the answer if this okay during the Whole30. I would think not because if you're allergic to dairy in anyway, your face would be sensitive to it as well? or would it only be in your gut? I personally will stay away from it just in case. But then this got me wondering about shampoos and sulfates and other chemicals and products added to our bathroom routine products. Am I reading too much into this? Are we supposed to be resetting our bodies or just our digestive systems?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted December 5, 2016 Moderators Share Posted December 5, 2016 Whole30 is only about things you actually eat. It doesn't say anything about toothpastes, mouthwash, lotion, deodorant, or cosmetics. Sometimes doing whole30 causes people to rethink other aspects of their lives, and that's great, but it doesn't say that you have to change any of these things. MeadowLily
The air we breathe and the water we drink....few have control over those items. Living in a big ole city, breathing exhaust fumes or coal dust, drinking water with a high lead content...those things affect humans and animals more than toothpaste, cosmetics or facials.
