farahne
I need a jolt but I can't drink black coffee or coffee period. Can I have a Starbucks green tea latte with coconut milk? sounds compliant but I guess its possible that they sweeten the powder tea right? jmcbn
I can't comment on the tea, but last I heard their coconut milk contained at least carrageenan (& some added sugar IIRC) which is off limits I'm afraid.
apool1
Neither the green tea powder (matcha) nor the coconut milk is compliant. The matcha is about 50% sugar. I used to work at Starbucks. However, unsweetened green iced tea, or plain hot green tea are both compliant, with nothing added.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted December 7, 2016 Moderators Share Posted December 7, 2016 Starbucks' website is usually pretty good about listing ingredients, so if you're ever not sure about something in the future, you might check it out. For energy, try drinking a big glass of water and taking a brisk walk (or going up and down the stairs, or some sort of light activity), or getting outside in the sunshine for a few minutes if that's possible. Sometimes just stepping away from whatever you're doing for a few minutes can help you come back refocused and able to get back to work.
kruddock
I find that kombucha gives me a little kick of energy, just make sure it is compliant. GT brand is one of the best.
NoMoreCrunchyCravings
I've been off coffee since day 4 or 5 (on day 10 now). I find that when I need a pick-me-up, a big mug of Bigelow lemon lift tea is just right - it's black tea so it has the caffeine, and the citrus flavor is quite refreshing. I also sometimes brew it and then let it steep for ages until it gets cold, pour both the tea and the tea bag into my liter water bottle, and then add water to fill to the top, and refrigerate. It's delicious cold!

You have to look on the package of the food item that you're planning on consuming and read the ingredient list.
laura_juggles
Soy is one of those sneaky things that doesn't always get mentioned in the ingredients (why? no idea). So after looking at the ingredients, I always skim the package for an allergy statement. Often it'll say "processed in a facility that also processes peanuts and tree nuts". That's a-ok unless you're allergic to peanuts or tree nuts. But other things (like tuna, omg tuna!) will look totally benign and compliant in the ingredients and then the allergy statement "Contains: Soy". Whaaaaaaaa?!??!??!? So many people get caught off guard.
farahne
Thanks everyone...well I ended up having a piece of fruit and a tall glass of water;-) but I am so disappointed about the green tea latte. So today I brought in my actual matcha and plain coconut milk to make my own tea. I had a feeling Starbucks had hidden ingredients

And I thought I was a pro being in my third round of w30 and all! Good thing my motto is "progress, not perfection!"
