Robin C
Question? I know maple syrup is a big no-no. Is there something creative I can use in recipes to replace that? I see many Paleo recipes have that in it, but I was trying to get as creative as I can! Many thanks everyone!
Administrators ladyshanny Posted December 12, 2016 Administrators Share Posted December 12, 2016 Whatcha trying to make that is a "paleo" recipe that contains maple syrup? All baked goods, treats recreations etc are not permitted so just wondering what you would need a maple syrup replacement for?
MeadowLily
Robin, many paleo creations have alternative flours and sweetners for dessert imposters. SWYPO's. Check out the recipe section of this forum, few are posting any new recipes because of copyright issues...but the old threads have scads of compliant recipes. You could check out Melissa's new cookbooks for compliant recipes, too.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted December 12, 2016 Moderators Share Posted December 12, 2016 It really depends on what you're doing -- as mentioned, baked goods/desserts are out for Whole30. If you're doing a salad dressing or sauce, you might be able to add fruit or fruit juice of some kind, or possibly just leave it out, it'll depend on what the recipe is. If you tell us what you're trying to make, or link to the recipes you're wanting to make, we might be able to offer some ideas. It might be easiest just to look for Whole30 compliant recipes instead -- most of the recipes on Well Fed are compliant, a lot of the ones on Nom Nom Paleo are, and all of the ones on Whole Life Eating are.
