onapona
is it okay to eat for breakfast fresh fruit with some coconut milk/cream and nuts/seeds?
Cheshire Cheetah
I wouldn't recommend it. Protein, Fat, and Plants is how you should base your meals. I also pretty sure it's SWYPO, since it's meant to taste sweet (according to my Whole30 book, even blueberries in coconut milk are not allowed) You'll want your "breakfast" (call it Meal 1, it's much easier) to be the same structure as your other meals. I usually eat eggs (quick and easy protein to prepare) with veggies or fruit. I've also had fish, meatballs, and other "non-breakfast" items for my first meal, and they taste amazing. Much easier to stomach than sweet breakfasts, anyway.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted December 22, 2016 Moderators Share Posted December 22, 2016 If you wanted to have this with breakfast, have it as part of a template-based meal of protein, fat, and vegetables, with a little fruit on the side. On its own, it's likely to cause a spike in blood sugar and ultimately probably will not keep you satisfied for 4-5 hours. Some people find that having fruit even with their breakfast leaves them hungrier later in the day and find they do best having any fruit they do have with their lunch or dinner, but that's something they tend to figure out through trial and error.
