caitnicole
Hello! I just started the January Whole30 yesterday. I found this sausage at my local grocery store. It doesn't LOOK like anything non-compliant up front, but the "fresh hams" makes me wonder.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted January 3, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 3, 2017 Ham, by definition, is a cured pork product, usually with sugar. You'd have to email the company and ask them.
caitnicole
That was my worry. I will just stay away from it. It was tricky since it doesn't give the extra ingredients for the ham. The nutrition facts list there are 0 grams of sugar, but I don't know if that makes a difference?
Administrators ladyshanny Posted January 3, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 3, 2017 Nutritional info doesn't mean anything on Whole30. There are "loopholes" that the manufacturers can slip through to declare 0g even if they have added sugar. Probably best to just steer clear until your 30 days are up.
