Tferraro517
I read on a blog to put cans of coconut milk in the fridge to thicken the consistancy, is there any use for the water at the bottom after?
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted January 5, 2017 Moderators Share Posted January 5, 2017 You can use it in cooking in the place of water to thin things like curries if you want but honestly, I can't be bothered keeping it... I just toss it.
crookette
Your not supposed to mix all that stuff together? Hmm..I've been doing it wrong all along. I'm kinda glad because I really don't like the milk curdle appearance!
Administrators ladyshanny Posted January 5, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 5, 2017 @crookette - if you are wanting to use coconut milk in something where it really only calls for coconut "cream" then you harden it in the fridge and discard the water. If you are using coconut milk in coffee, for instance, you can mix the water and cream together for a more pourable consistency. Sometimes they don't mix very well so you can actually blend them together with a stick blender. Usually once you mix it once, it stays together.
