tlink34
Its the TAZO BRAND , sweet cinnamon spice and it's the very last ingredient. Compliant or no? I am thinking no but I know with vanilla extract it si because of the alcohol content. This is a dried tea so I can't imagine there is any alcohol left. jmcbn
But a tea with vanilla extract in it would be out, right? The process for extracting the almond flavour involves alcohol in the same way that it does for xetracting the vanilla flavour so IMO this one would be out too. slc_melissa
"Extract" does not necessarily mean alcohol. In this thread, Tom says to watch just the ingredient list about 5 posts in. So if the tea bags say something like: almond extract (almond, alcohol) it would be a problem.
laura_juggles
But the ingredients in an extract aren't always listed on the ingredients list. Like Blueberry Muffin Larabars, which we know are non-compliant. Here's their ingredients list: Dates, Cashews, Blueberries, Blueberry Juice Concentrate, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Vanilla Extract. slc_melissa
Vanilla extract is specifically listed in the program as not compliant, just like carrageenan or added sugar.
