Started January 7th! Day 4, I'm dying

Hi everybody! So glad I found these forums! I have a long history of food issues that I'm trying to resolve. Picked up "food freedom forever" book last week at the bookstore, became intrigued with whole 30 and started doing it the 7th. It's really really really hard right now.  I've been addicted to weighing myself and judging myself based on my weight for the day, deciding what I'm going to eat based on my weight for the day. And I feel lost! I also feel lost without my sugar and little treats I eat throughout each day. Looking forward to taking this journey with all of you!

I am also on day 4 of this journey. The first day was torture for me.  Headache, dizzy, yucky feeling all day but it has gotten much better. I am also not a big veggie eater so that has been a struggle for me but doing better. I have given in and stepped on the scale. I needed to see if this was all worth it and feeling as bad as I did the first day. Make sure you are meal planning, it seems to make things a little easier. Hope things start to get better for you.

I'm one day ahead and the physical stuff hasn't been horrible, but the emotional side has been interesting. I read It Starts With Food right before I started, which I would really recommend if you haven't read it yet. I've had food issues for most of my life, and reading it helped me step away from the guilt and shame side of things so much more than I thought possible because it clearly explains how our bodies get out of balance. It was like a lightbulb went on for me and it's made the mental and emotional side of things a lot easier. I'm about halfway through FFF right now too, which is great too. I agree with StaciaLee about meal planning and food prep. I've realized we can have healthy food in the fridge, but if it's not already easy to grab then our whole family will go for other stuff that is. Having veggies that you like to snack on like carrots, peppers, cucumbers etc all washed, cut and in a container makes it easy to grab a snack or to just open the container and put it on the table for sides for dinner. Having all the makings for salads, including protein like cooked chicken or something like that, makes it really easy to throw a salad together in 5 minutes. Hard boiled eggs are another great snack. I've been cooking up about two dozen at a time and our whole family has been grabbing them and snacking on them when hungry.
