Am I fat burning?

Hi there, normally I stick to my un-moderated log, but I'm venturing out to ask a question that I couldn't find in five minutes of looking through other posts. 

A lot of people talk about fat burning, and I understand ketosis (been there done that and have the pee sticks to prove it). 

What I want to know is how we KNOW if we are fat burning or not? Is there any way to tell? I know it doesn't "matter," but I'm just so curious about how our bodies use glycogen/fat/ketones as fuel.
