AshleyJets2Healthy
Good Morning Whole30 Family, I am on my round 2, and just realized that I can't have juice. I'm not talking OJ or apple juice, I'm talking juiced vegetables. I seem to have forgotten that bit between rounds. Do you think I should start over? Is juice really going to derail me that much? Thanks! Ashley
slc_melissa
It's up to you, but if you were eating technically compliant ingredients, smoothies/juicing are on the we'd-rather-you-didn't recommendation vs hard and fast rule.
ArtFossil
Quote Smoothies: We’d rather you didn’t This is a very popular question, with a very unpopular answer. Smoothies (generally made using lots of fruit) are technically compliant on your Whole30, but we strongly recommend against it. Food that you drink sends different satiety signals to your brain than food that you chew. So when you drink your meal, your brain isn’t getting the feedback it needs to tell your body that it’s had enough of what it needs. Plus, smoothies are generally really fruit-heavy, and starting your day off with a liquid sugar-bomb sets you up for cravings, hunger, and volatile energy levels throughout the day. In summary, we’d rather you just eat the food, and skip the smoothie. Do you want the most benefits?
MeadowLily
Juices are a straight shot to the pot. Not cause for a restart but whole produce is the ultimate in transport systems.
