Sweet Potato
Is 'Organic Cane Juice' allowed on the Whole30? I can't seem to find any sausages or chicken\beef stock without it. I do love ground beef but it gets a bit repetitve after awhile.
Guest
I say no. Sorry You can make your own stock and alleviate that problem. No advice for the sausage. I can't find any that is crap free anywhere within a 100 mile radius of my ridiculously very rural area. I did find plain ground pork and I made my own sausage. Let me find the link. Susan W
Cane juice is simply sugar water from a sugar cane. Keep looking though, there is sausage to be had that is clean. I've heard Aidels Chicken and Apple is. I did what Croll did and simply took ground pork and added whatever spices I wanted. Some for breakfast sausage and some for a very spicy Italian sausage with fennel seeds and dried chili flakes. Making stock is super easy. Especially if you have a crock pot. whitjm5
If you have a Costco or Sam's, "Aidels" is good, as slw600 mentioned. Tasty, too! We just bought some pork belly and are going to be making some pseudo-bacon with it, too. Via this method: http://americanfood.about.com/od/breakfastandbrunch/r/Making-Fresh-Bacon-At-Home.htm that someone posted in another thread. Sweet Potato
Thank you all! We already had a trip to Costco planned tomorrow, so I'll see about Aidells then. If not, I suppose we could give making our own sausage a shot.
