Xango Juice Supplement

Tracey

Recommended Posts

I've been taking Xango juice as a supplement since 2006 (take approx 2 oz per day).

I checked the label, and it contains mangosteen puree, as well as an array of other juices, plus (and this is where I'm not sure if it's ok): Citric Acid (which I believe is ok), natural flavor (?), pectin, xanthan gum, and sodium benzoate.

Any idea if this is compliant?

Thank you again! You guys are great!

If you do a search for Sodium Benzoate, you will see that Melissa Hartwig herself said while sodium benzoate isn't something you should search out, it's not banned. Not really sure about the value of that supplement as a whole though. Hopefully a Moderator will give their opinion.

Juice isn't really compliant unless it's an ingredient of something else (like apple juice sweetened dried cranberries) or something like that. Think about why you are taking this supplement and what it's costing you as opposed to just eating fruit. It seems like there isn't anything particularly magical in it that you couldn't get from eating real food.

Also, check out Whole9's supplement evaluation checklist!
