Smilebewell
Just finished my second round of Whole30. This time during the last couple of weeks I have had a distended belly and have been gassy. I can't figure out what is causing it? During my first round, I felt lean at the end and had lost a couple of inches around my waist. (not that I care about not loosing inches) I just hate the uncomfortable bloated/ gassy feeling. Any ideas what could be causing it? or what else I should eliminate? I can't figure out what I'm doing different this round from last time to have such a different feeling. I feel like I'm eating similar foods. I feel good otherwise but by the end of the day, I look like I'm 3 months pregnant so I must not be digesting something right. Anyone have any thoughts or insight? Moderators ShannonM816 Posted February 4, 2017 Moderators Share Posted February 4, 2017 Do you keep a food log? That's probably the easiest way to track down what could be causing this -- you could see if you were eating a lot more nuts & seeds, or a lot more raw vegetables vs. cooked vegetables, or certain types of vegetables (like FODMAPS or nightshades) that can cause this issue for some people. Sometimes, it's dependent on how much of something you've had -- so if the issue is FODMAPS, for instance, you may tolerate some and never notice any problems, but then one week you have a whole bunch of them and suddenly have issues. Smilebewell
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to get rid off nightshades and eggs this week. Also take a break from cauliflower, broccoli, and spaghetti squash. I think I may have been eating too much of that. I feel like that doesn't leave me many veggies but I'll make it work I also plan on starting a food journal to help make the connection.
