Hi all. I'm a 29-year-old graduate student in my fourth and final year of film school. The summer before I came out to LA, post-living abroad for a year, I tried Paleo and it was pretty amazing. I had steady energy, no mood swings, and felt like a million bucks. I realized my lifelong struggle with stomach problems stemmed from so much gluten in my diet. I can realistically do a little quality dairy, but definitely overdo it at present. Grad school has wreaked havoc on my health. Paleo went out the door within a few months. Now that I'm nearing the end of school and heading out into the big bad world of the film industry, where schedules are erratic and life is anything but steady, I'm hoping to set up my health and habits in a way that is sustainable whatever my day/week/month looks like, because they will rarely ever look the same. I love to cook and just recently moved in with my boyfriend, who also loves to cook and is almost always happier with protein and veggies, so hopefully that should help. Here's hoping this Whole 30 sticks for real this time!

Welcome Kate! I also work in the film industry (on the NY side) and am 4 days away from finishing my first Whole 30! And I did it all while staying away from the mountains of bread, breakfast pastries and pizza that are served on what seems like on an hourly basis on a film set. Be strong!

There are very few paleo options on film sets, I personally also had dried fruit and an apple with me at all times. I tried making my own food for the first week of whole30 and with the long hours it just got too much, so I just had to be ultra picky and ask A LOT of questions to the caterers.  The long hours make it almost impossible not to snack but like you said you felt like a million bucks on Paleo and I can say the same, not tired after 14 hour days and can go some days with no coffee at all. Its truly amazing. Good luck to you!
