mwinney
Hello! my 13 year old daughter and I are on day 5. Going great so far. My wonderful wife does the vast majority of the cooking and she made clarified butter for us. I was home tonight and decided to cook some grass fed ground beef using the butter. I found out after I used two tbls of the left over milk proteins instead of the butter. The exact stuff I am supposed to avoid! Any thing I should do or am I over reacting? I am fully committed to the 30 days so wondering if I need to start over or just keep trudging ahead. Thanks
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted February 12, 2017 Moderators Share Posted February 12, 2017 Oh no! That stinks! Unfortunately, dairy can be very disruptive... any interest in doing a Whole35? There's an article you can read below about starting over.... read that and then make a decision.
mwinney
Thank you Sugarcube OD for your opion, time, and advice! I have done some reading and I have decided to stick with my original 30 day plan. The only reason I am responding is if someone else wants to see a different train of thought. I understand wanting the whole 30 day experience, however after reading the post about starting over, other than the science issue I feel like I am still on track. I feel as though the essence of this is to change one's mental, emotional, as well as physical relationship with food. I am doing that. I could see if I broke down and just had to have a piece of pizza and beer (which the thought of a pizza right now makes me nauseous, but can't lie a beer would be nice!) I would need to start over and be more disciplined. But in my case using 2 TBS of the left over milk proteins from our clarifying of butter by accident isn't quite the same thing. Lastly, I am no doctor, but I think any ill effects from that minor mishap should be well out of my body in 25 days. Then again, I could be totally wrong with all this. That's my 2 cents. Crastney
you could carry on to 30 days, and leave the dairy reintroduction till last. but yes it's your choice, you do what you're happy with.
