MichelleK2017
Hello everyone! I am just finishing up Day 28 (Yay! I have almost finished the 30 days with no cheats!!! GO ME!!!!) For the past week I have had major insomnia and I don't know why. I'm usually always tired but I just can't sleep. When I do sleep, it's not restful. It's not like I'm raring to go with tons of energy either (that would be wonderful though!) I just can't sleep which is making me super cranky which makes me stressed which makes me really crave junk food during the day (I was a bad stress eater prior to the Whole30). Anyone else go through a period of insomnia? Any advice to get my body to cooperate on getting some good, restful sleep? Haven't been taking any naps either. Just can't sleep at night no matter how tired I physically am.
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted February 17, 2017 Moderators Share Posted February 17, 2017 Wow, i'm sorry to hear that! Do you practice good sleep hygeine? Have you considered taking a magnesium supplement? You could also try eating a starch with your last meal of the day...
sleggat
wow, this is exactly where I am. major insomnia and also headaches - which could be related. I wake up with headaches. I am a chronic migraine sufferer and am doing whole30 in hopes specifically to reduce the frequency and pain level of my migraines. I am hopeful it will work but am losing hope because I'm on day 28 and no changes yet. Could the changes occur well after I'm starting to reintroduce foods? (asking for hope here...)
