Google their ingredient list... if that's not available, call the restaurant that you want to go to and ask... it won't matter if someone says something in their area is compliant, you still need to check and ask because ingredients can change from region to region.

OK I don't know about where you're living but here in South Africa the mild sauce is just:

  • water
  • white vinegar
  • onion
  • salt
  • lemon
  • sunflower oil
  • spices
  • chillis
  • garlic
  • xantham gum
  • propylene glycol alginate
  • calcium disodium EDTA

And it's the same in the restaurants as on the shelves. So no sugar, looks good? Not 100% sure as I'm a newbie as well....

Not non-compliant, but commonly found in anti-freeze, with not a huge amount of research on it's long term effects from consumption. Certainly in the EU it's allowed in foods in MUCH lower quantities than in the US.
