MonicaRenee144
I'm starting my reintroduction phase. Dairy was Tuesday, and I'll do gluten tomorrow. It's interesting, though, I'm finding that while I'm definitely going to follow the reintroduction schedule so I have a clear idea of how things affect me. I'm just not terribly interested in them anymore. I did my dairy reintroduction and discovered that, while cheese is delicious, it really just adds extra calories (not that I'm counting calories) to things I was adding it to before with no real benefit to me. I felt perfectly comfortable going right back to a cheeseless omelette and coconut milk in my coffee this morning. I will probably indulge in some really good expensive cheese now and then, but for everyday...I just don't need it. I'm also not really excited about gluten day. I like bread and everything, but I don't really miss it. It's just so interesting to me! People hear me say I'm doing the W30 and they're like "I could NEVER give these things up!" I wish I had a good way to describe to them how I feel right now - because I used to be the same way they were. Hmm.
LRM
Funny you mention this. I'm about 2 weeks into my reintroduction and still about 90-95% compliant. My only change is creme in my morning coffee and the occasional Lara bar. Sometimes I've used regular half-half (not grass fed creme) but that's pretty much it. I'm amazed that I don't miss bread, sweeteners and even things like cheese, chocolate and ice cream. I NEVER thought I could EVER give these things up, and now I no longer think about them. Turns out I love having a flat belly and a clear head far more than I could ever love a frosted cupcake. This process is fascinating, isn't it? :-)
Renee Lee
If you don't miss it, don't reintroduce it!!! just wait until you have a grandmother made pie in front of you to do that one.
TrayS
The thought of bread sort of makes me imagine eating cardboard at this point. I don't miss it at all. Of course the other day my husband made homemade biscuits and I drooled a little bit, but it wasn't worth the icky feeling I knew I would get from eating it. So I continued eating my fried eggs and veggies/fruit and didn't touch the biscuits. Knowing the consequences of what you eat before you eat it sure helps to make better choices. Kirsteen
I'd love to reintroduce bread but since I've been gluten free for over 12 years due to not tolerating it, I think the results would be disasterous . I also gave up dairy over a year ago as I'd breast cancer and read so much about the connection between it and dairy. There's also, apparently a big connection between sugar and cancer. Since I know my type is at high risk of returning I do try to avoid stuff like that as much as possible anyway so there's not really all that much I'm wanting to reintroduce . However, W30 really has stopped me missing them

That's a good point Renee! However, I'm going to try it out just so I know how everything affects me - it might not be worth that Grandma-made pie. I do enjoy a quality craft beer now and then- however, so I'd like to know how things affect me.
Emily
I realized that I had been eating cheese on many things that I couldn't even taste the cheese on... so why put it in? If I have a burger with guar, I can't taste the cheese. There are a few things I will still eat cheese on (although now that I say that I can't think of any... french onion soup perhaps?) but there's no reason for me to eat it if I can't even taste it! I noticed the same thing! I put some on my chocolate chili for reintroduction and didn't even taste it.
AmyS
I'm late to the party here, but the things I find I don't miss are ham and cheese. I just think about them and my ankles swell up. That's not to say I don't indulge deliberately when I'm not in Whole30 mode; but I expect (and see immediately) the consequences. I was really shocked not to miss cheese, actually. I never think about it. I'm re-starting tomorrow. Really looking forward to it.
