Roberta Morris Zukauskas
I finished my Whole30 yesterday - lessons learned included: * I can walk away from the pastries/sweets etc - if i am mindful, I realize it's often a habit to eat them, not real hunger or even a craving. * I can stop eating when full, and don't have to finish what's on my plate. * I feel better (more energy, mostly better sleep, better moods, no stomach bloating or discomfort) when I eat this way. * I LOST 8 POUNDS!!!! I know this is not about weight loss, but I saw myself following the inevitable weight gain road. I used to weigh 244 pounds before I lost 115 pounds with weight watchers. I did not want to regain the weight, but here I was, 5 years later, weighing 164.4. Good to know I can lose weight without being hungry or counting points or calories. While I did not measure myself, my clothes are fitting looser. Things to change: * I still eat too fast. * I did not eat enough fat - I think this is why I would sometimes feel like a snack in the afternoon. * I need more veggies - I would have a big salad with lunch, and lots of veggies with dinner, plus fruit with breakfast and lunch. I feel I might have needed more veggies. What lessons have other graduates learned?
