Meghan Leanne
Hi, I am on day 10 and for the past three days, in the am into early afternoon I feel very dizzy/lightheaded and feel "out of it" which is uncomfortable. Is this normal
jmcbn
What have you been eating @Meghan Leanne Dizzy/Light-headedness can have a couple of under-lying causes - lack of water, lack of salt, lack of fat, and lack of food in general. If you can let us know what you've been eating we can give a more informed response.
Meghan Leanne
Typically I eat an egg with fruit and almonds in the am. At lunch salad with some sort of protein and evening protein, veggie. I also have a cup of coffee in the am. Today I had just fruit (banana and orange and almondswith coffee though).
jmcbn
Yeah, you're not eating enough, and surviving on fruit/nuts in this way rather than filling up on protein, fats & veg will cause your blood sugar to spike & dip which in turn will make you feel dizzy/faint. Have you seen the meal template? Each meal should be 1-2 palm sized pieces of protein, 1-3 cups of veg (with 3 being optmal 'cos really we mean FILL your plate!), and a generous serving of fat. When eggs are your only source of protein in a meal you should be eating as many whole eggs as you can hold in one hand - most females manage 3-4. Salads need to be HUGE to be satiating - think how much greens reduce down when chewed, and nuts, whilst considered a fat, can be a lot more carb dense than people give them credit for which will have contributed to the spikes & dips in your blood sugar. You were probably fine for the first few days eating like this, but nutrition is cumulative and eventually you get to a point where you're playing catch up. Try building your meals to match the template, x3 times a day, the first within an hour of wakening and I'm sure you'll soon feel a whole lot better. Have you something more substantial you can eat now to keep you going?
