HawaiiWarm
Looking for some feedback with the Whole30 and losing weight. Or in my case I stopped losing weight. I started the Whole30 on January 1st of this year. I wasn't planning on getting on with the plan but my two daughters and my wife all jumped on and so i did. To my surprise after the first 30 days I jumped on a scale and lost 24 pounds! I was excited to say the least. The thing is I didn't even exercise like I normally do yet still dropped the weight. We all did, not the same amount of weight but the same amount of weight percentage wise. You see we all dropped exactly 10.2%. I then decided to do another 30 days but this time ramp up my fitness in which I did. This time I tracked everything, calories, h2o, fitness and weight loss. The first 8 days on the second 30 I lost 5 more pounds but then nothing after that. My goal is to lose another 24 pounds. I do feel good though, my resting pulse has dropped 5 points, sleep is okay but not the greatest, some nights only 6 hours. Our meal plans are the same for the most part since our first 30 days. My lean vs fat has gone from 38.6 to 34.3 and my BMI has dropped 4.4 points in 60 days. Hopefully I've painted a picture enough to get some feedback. Any and all would be more than appreciated. Have a great day

Part of the beauty of the Whole30 is it removes your tracking of weight loss and calories. It removes the stress of these two things which are extremely impactful to your hormones (whther you feel it or not). Whole30 also is not a weightloss diet and as such, hacking it with counting calories and stepping on the scale is a recipe for poor success. Are you eating pre and post workout meals if you're doing exercise? Is it possible that you made a weightloss goal of 53 pounds based on what society/media tells you and not on what your body actually wants? It's possible that any weightloss has slowed down because you have less weight to lose, or your body doesn't actually want to let go of the 'last' 24 pounds. HawaiiWarm
Hi SugarcubeOD. I new I would get a "tracking" reply but just wanted to be honest on the feedback. Workouts are random some are pre and post. The goal to lose the weight is my own for the sake of my knees. Knees are sensitive from years of hiking hills as a wildland firefighter and want to dump the weight for the knees. But what I'm seeing in your reply is dump the tracking. Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the reply Hi; Yep, dump the tracking... keep listening to your body and feeding it when it's hungry... no tracking app can help you with that and the more intune you are with your body, the better your stress levels about body related stuff will become... Thanks for your service as a firefighter! The forest thanks you too!
