Liveclean17
Is it considered Whole 30 if you make your own gluten free breadcrumbs to use in meatloaf? All of the ingredients are Whole 30. The ingredients were mixed, baked and then crumbled into gluten free breadcrumbs.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted March 6, 2017 Moderators Share Posted March 6, 2017 You can make meatloaf without bread crumbs, so if you haven't made it yet, I'd highly recommend finding a different, more definitely compliant recipe. (Here's one, or another, or google Whole30 meatloaf for a bunch of other options.) The thing is, the rules specifically say not to make bread, and to make bread crumbs, you have to make bread. I get that it's a different purpose, but it seems pretty clear to me.
ArtFossil
Don't bother with breadcrumbs in a meatloaf! Just use an egg for a binder, good quality meat, whatever seasonings you like, and if you want to go wild, some chopped onion. I sometimes bake a carrot inside (pretty when sliced). Guest
What about ground almonds (or other nuts)? Nutritious and delicious!
Liveclean17
Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes it can be hard to gather the whole concept of what is considered Whole 30. So easy to get hung up on the ingredients.
