kristinab
So I am on day 9. I was pleasantly surprised how good I felt for the first week. Hardly any of the symptoms listed on the timeline. Cravings sure, but nothing unmanageable. I felt like I had such steady, calm energy. Not quite tiger blood but almost like I was in ketosis already. Then starting yesterday I began feeling super tired, having headaches (very unusual for me) and feeling my blood sugar be unstable, like I was back to burning sugar. Basically the reverse of the timeline! What is going on here? I think I am possibly eating too much fruit and nuts but other than that have been 100% compliant. I know the whole30 isn't designed specifically to put you in ketosis but isn't that what "tiger blood" is? Feeling a little confused...

Feeling a little confused... No. And we fairly actively discourage ketosis, although a small minority who've been eating paleo/whole30 for some time do choose to go down that route. The aim in Whole30 is to become 'fat-adapted' which means your body will efficiently switch from burning sugar to fat as and when required. Tiger Blood is different things to different people but it's more of a feeling of balance, harmony, steady energy.... a calm and happy feeling..... euphoria maybe... What do your meals look like? We'd be much better equipped to help you troubleshoot if we had an understanding of what you've been eating & drinking over the past 3-4 days, along with activity levels. kristinab
Thank you! That helps me to understand better the aim of the program. I was feeling a bit better today and after looking at some of the other posts I think I need to eat more in general, and specifically add more fat and carbs not from fruit.
