CassieS
I started my second Whole30 yesterday. I did a Whole30 2.5 years ago and it was amazing, but I was never quite able to implement the food freedom skills and I was never able to complete a second one. This time, I am determined to complete a second one. I just finished a very difficult pregnancy in which I lived off of gluten free toast (I have celiac disease). I was nauseous all the time, and barely ever ate. In fact, I didn't even gain any weight with my pregnancy until they had to do a C-section and pump me full of fluids. Anyway, right after I had the baby, between hormones, not having eaten much for nine months, and breastfeeding, I find myself eating everything. I have gained 25 lbs in seven weeks since having the baby and just generally feel like crap. I have been eating a bag of Easter candy a day, no lie. So I finally sat down with myself on Sunday night and said enough is enough. I want my little girl to grow up in a healthy household and I want to be able to balance my hormones so I can be a good wife and mother and eventually go back to part-time work as a therapist. So here I am, day two and feel amazing so far. It's as if my body was crying out for a break from the crap. I hope the momentum keeps up.
ncoughlin
i truly applaud you for even attempting this at 7 weeks pp. i tried roughly around the same time and failed miserably. it was just too much cooking for me to handle on top of everything else that was going on. my daughter is now 7 months old and i will be doing my whole 30 in april! glad to hear you are feeling amazing even at the beginning! good luck
CassieS
Thanks! It almost felt necessary because my hormones have been so imbalanced. Although I am noticing that I don't get to eating breakfast until 9 or 10am because I have to cook it. I might end up precooking my omelette every day the night before while my husband can watch the baby:) Good luck on your April Whole30!.
