OnceMoreWithFailing
I'd really like to make a zoodle recipe that calls for homemade cashew cream, but I am allergic to tree nuts. Coconut cream is normally my go-to, but I think that it would be the wrong flavor profile for this recipe. Any suggestions for seeds that soak well and would blend nicely into a decent substitute? I was thinking about using pumpkin seeds or pine nuts (no allergic response), but would I get a similar, creamy result if I prepare them in the same way as cashew cream (soak, drain, blend)? Thanks! Carol
Try the pine nut cream sauce in this recipe here: http://www.onegreenplanet.org/vegan-recipe/savory-pancake-stack-with-pine-nut-cream/ The pancakes aren't compliant (no pancakes are...) but the cream is. Oh man- that pine nut cream looks amazing! Perhaps just the recipe to push me into trying my first sauce!
