Kylecedwards
Greetings! I will be starting Rd 2 of Whole30 (3rd round for my wife) on April 3rd. The kicker is, I will be doing it in the land of Pasta, Bread and Wine. I completed Whole30 early last year with great results. But being a year removed from that, I miss the way I felt. Additionally, since moving to Italy in November our diet is nothing like it was before moving here. We will either eat pasta or pizza 4-5 times per week. With each meal we will have fresh baked bread a a few glasses of wine. While the food here is minimally processed and made with realtively natural ingredients (the labels don't have a bunch of scienecy names), it still has done its toll. We know it's not going to be easy. We speak very little Italian and the labels are very hard to read. Most of our meals will be pretty boring as a lot of the ingredients you see in the cookbooks and instagram feeds aren't readily available here. Thankfully there are fresh fruit and vegetable stands on just about every corner and butchers are dime a dozen. Not to mention the Whole30 pack of Primal Kitchen goodies we ordered on Amazon will help out big time. We look forward to the challenge of the next 30 days! Some of those obviously aren't off limits, but it WILL make life a whole lot easier for you, even if you will still need to be able to identify sugars/sweeteners, alcohol and legumes. Just stick to the fresh produce and you really can't go far wrong.

Kylecedwards
Day 1 in the books; Egg, spinach and red pepper quiche for breakfast Stuffed Peppers for lunch Afternoon snack of banana and almond butter Coconut curry chicken, cauliflower rice and sweet potatoes for dinner. So far so good, feeling hungry. Caloric intake is down a good bit so I'm sure that's playing a big role. Also worked out this morning prior to breakfast. Boiled up some eggs to get some quick protein tomorrow before my workout.

Kylecedwards
R2D6 B- Egg, tomato, pepper scramble L- 2 hard boiled eggs, apple D- Rogan Josh, Cauliflower Mash, Salad w avocados and olives Pretty tired throughout the day, ran to the base for an Easter egg hunt and football clinic by the Dolphins so didn't eat a real lunch. For dinner made Rogan Josh from the Well Fed book. However had to make it a Chicken since heather doesn't eat lamb or red meat. Had a hard time getting our Italian oven to go low enough to simmer, so most of the sauce cooked up in the summer time. Made some extra sauce right before serving. Flavor was incredible. Sure would have been much better with a tougher meat that would stand of to the braising better. Either way it was a success and a fantastic dinner!
