Hello!

i just got done reading It Starts With Food and am super excited to start my first whole 30! I am getting married at the end of July and would love to have more energy, clearer skin, etc for the big day! My question is when do I start? I want to start Monday but then our food tasting for our reception is on day 19. If I wait until after that my bridal shower at a winery falls about half way through and then my bachelorette party.  Thoughts?

Hi there! Do you have 30 straight days (plus 10 or more so days for the reintro) where you don't have a tasting, the bridal shower or bachelorette party before the wedding at the end of July? I would recommend finding those 40 or so days and doing the Whole30. I am getting married in September and had those important wedding dates on my calendar already so I planned my Whole30 around those. It was really important for me to be able to participate in the tasting for the reception. And yes, I trusted my fiance's opinions, but it was something I was looking forward to when we booked the venue. What you might find is after you complete your Whole30 and do the reintroduction process, you will see what foods might be contributing to a lack of energy or less than ideal skin. Then when the shower and bachelorette parties come up, you can make a decision on if you want to include those foods during those events. You also might consider (after the shower and bachelorette parties) doing a mini-reset to get yourself back on track and feeling great before the big day. Just some thoughts from one bride to another :)

Thanks for the thoughts!  I started today, it is the only chunk of time where I don't have something "big" (not counting the tasting as "big") wedding related from now until the wedding.  So, I guess we'll just have to deal with it! :)  Thanks again!
