Jinxx
Starting on the day after Easter! Which is also tax day this year. But I thought the 4-17-17 was a nice number too. Am I the only person who gives stuff up after lent is over?? I'm Jinxx...got the nickname because I predict movie endings and spoil it for everyone else. I'll turn 35 during the Whole30. I'm a divorced mother of two boys, 10 and 13, living in North Dakota. 5'7" and 240lbs. I have rheumatoid arthritis, so I take a lot of medication to keep it in check. My doc is definitely on board with the Whole30. I'm also a student carrying 18 credits this semester and, you guessed it, will also be taking finals during my Whole30! I figure if I waited to start until I wasn't so busy I'd never get around to starting!
TBD
I'm in for April 17 too! A little worried, because my birthday falls in the next 30 days, but I think being healthy is the best birthday gift I could give myself anyways! I'm from Toronto, Canada, working for a bank and doing a part time education program. Glad to hear there is another arthritis fellow with me - I have ankylosing spondylitis. Looking forward to going through this process with you!

TBD
Day one done - great job everyone If the book is to be believed, it's all downhill from here... for a bit at least. We can do it!!
krab43
Day 1 for me too! I tried my first Whole 30 back in September but didn't have support and was too intimidated to reach out, so it didn't go so well and I didn't stick with it. I'm much more determined this time! Blessed Mama
Day 1 done here for me as well. Scared to see how the rest of the week is going to go.
dstinsrn
I started my whole 30 today too. It went pretty well. I was definitely hungry, but kept munching on carrots and celery all afternoon. I don't know about everyone else, but I definitely need snacks! I had to work today, but I'm off tomorrow so I'm really going to try to get some good meals planned for the next couple days. 1 day down, 29 to go! Jinxx
Day 1 done for me too! I know everybody says day 1 is the easiest. I'm guessing they're right. I basically just ate what I already had in the kitchen that was W30 compliant. I think I'm going to have to get serious about meal planning and shopping tomorrow if I'm going to get through week 1. I already miss my coffee creamer. :/

Take another look at the meal template and make your meals match, including the added fat. Eating raw veggies all afternoon is not only not teaching you how to build meals to last 4-5 hours, but it's going to potentially give you a terrible case of gut ache and bloat as raw veggies can be pretty difficult to digest for some people. We don't want you 'munching' on anything all day. Needing snacks is telling us that you didn't eat enough, so make note of that and up your meal composition. In the meantime, if you do need to eat between meals, make it intentional and protein and fat and then ideally some veggies... not snacking hand to mouth all afternoon but a five-ten minute proper mini meal and then adjust your meals accordingly as you go so you can give up the mini meals. Lulu59
My husband and I also started April 17th! Our daughter is getting married June 10th and we had become lazy with our food choices. Day one done:) Going shopping this afternoon to fill our fridge and pantry with better choices. I think breakfast will be the tough meal for me, I usually don't eat till noon, I know - horrible habit. Best of luck to all of us newbies!
