Mari86
Hello! I started Whole 30 a week ago. I have an autoimmune disease and finished treatment for breast cancer a year ago. I need to lose 50 pounds due to the steroids I had to take during treatment, and now the Tamoxifen I take to stop estrogen. I am one week into this and am having carb cravings like crazy. I am sleeping much better. But the worst part of week one is my aching body and fatigue. I've had to leave work early and just want to veg on the couch. Now I'm paranoid that I have lupus or fibromyalgia! Is anyone else having aches and fatigue? I want to put my paranoia to rest!!!

It's pretty rare to be in so much pain and discomfort that you think you have lupus/FM... maybe you should give us a rundown on what you've been eating for the last week (or even the last three or so days) with portion sizes and specific veggies, protien, fats and fruits, how much water etc ... and we can see if we can help tweak your meals... you really shouldn't feel THAT bad... Mari86
Thank you for responding so quickly. A quick rundown of what I am eating: Breakfast: coffee with unsweetened macadamia milk, Kombucha lunch: salad or broccolitini, fish or chicken salad with homemade mayo. Avocado. Strawberries dinner: chicken, and a vegetable i added a baked potato with ghee at night. I wasn't eating breakfast, but started with a hard boiled egg. Im in Maryland and have bad pollen. Maybe allergies?
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted May 13, 2017 Moderators Share Posted May 13, 2017 Okay, have you seen the meal template? Why are you only having coffee and kombucha for breakfast? If you're having trouble eating breakfast because you're 'not hungry' or it 'makes you feel gross' then that's a sign that your hormones are out of whack and you need to get them fixed... so plate up a template breakfast, eat as much as you can within an hour of waking... wrap up any leftovers and take them with you and then eat more as soon as you feel able (not waiting for hunger or next meal, but as soon as you feel that you can keep it down). Also, leave the coffee off until you've eaten your meal, coffee is an appetite suppressant. Lunch looks okay but it doesn't say how much of any of those items you're eating. Dinner has no fat as listed, but I"m confused about where the potato and egg fits in... You could be suffering some allergies, but in all honesty, I would feel dreadful if I ate as little as you've been eating. Reaquaint yourself with the template (linked in my signature below) and make your meals 3 times a day to match... Follow up question...How much water have you been drinking and are you salting your food?
Mari86
Thank you again! Was having the potato at night because I felt so badly I figured I needed more carbs. Looking back, probably not eating enough. Had an omelette yesterday and today. Felt great today, but the later felt achy again. Wondering if I did too much and hunk I have the actual flu maybe. But am definitely going to the food template in book! But I am certain I'm eating enough fat in olives, olive oil, ghee, eggs, walnut oil, macadamia nuts. Thank you so much! i am sleeping better and can tell I've dropped an inch or so and not as puffy.
