Starting my 5th on June 1st, would love company

I've done a few Whole30s before and am ready to do another one.  This will be my 5th official Whole30.  I love keeping in touch with others on the same day so I look forward to finding others who are starting the same day.

I moved (a thousand miles from all that I know and love) last year and my routine changed, not all for the better.  I need to clean up a few things about that and will be doing a 21 day sugar detox as well.  That's pretty much why I'm starting June 1st instead of sooner, I want some time to read the sugar detox book more and prepare my meal plan before I jump in.

I eat paleo by necessity, I'm allergic to dairy, legumes, grains, and also to other things that are paleo and Whole30 friendly for everyone else. I have the Whole30 book as well as several great cookbooks full of wonderful paleo and Whole30 recipes.  I now also have the sugar detox book and companion cookbook that I need to study more.

I'll be spending the next week preparing my shopping list, I'm pretty excited.

I'm game for a facebook group.  I've done that before and it went well.

Kirsti, be sure read all there is about preparing.  Definitely make sure you've gone through your cabinets, shelves, fridge, pantry, etc and checked every ingredient meticulously.  Get rid of or pack away anything that is not Whole30 compliant.  If in doubt, pack it away.  Do you live with anyone who will not be doing Whole30 with you?  I did my first while my daughter was still eating her usual stuff.  I actually sectioned off the fridge so she still had access to things but none of it was allowed on "my" shelves.  Same thing with pantry items.  It worked for us.  I cooked everything Whole30 compliant and she was left to get anything else she wanted for herself.

I'm new to the forums, and I'm doing my first Whole 30 in June too. It appears there's already a thread going for June:

Welcome to the forums.  This is a section where everyone can start a thread to announce their commitment to doing their Whole30 and their chosen start date.  You don't have to look for your date of choice to post in someone else's announcement thread.  All are welcome to share on one another's threads of course.

This isn't necessarily true @Ginsky. You don't need to start a new thread to announce your date. It would be a bit silly to have 30 one-post threads all from different people saying "starting June 1!".

@cristinamt is right, we encourage people to group up. If you want your own thread where only you post, you would do that in the "Your Whole30 Log" section. All other parts of the forum are open season!!

@ladyshanny can we use the "Your Whole 30" log as a journal – recording the feelings as well as foods we ate for each day? I find reflecting important.

That's exactly what it's there for! Just know that this specific area of the forum is not moderated so if you need help/feedback, you'll have to ask for help. :)

I did say everyone "can," not everyone "must" and also included that people are welcome to post on others' threads but if things have changed since I was last here to now be that no one is supposed to make a new thread to say hello if someone else already has for that same start date, please do let me know and I will keep it in mind for next time.

There are actually no rules that say that no one is supposed to make a new thread.  I think there has been a miscommunication all the way around.  All threads are fair game for all people to post... they can either join a thread or make their own... we encourage joining because it makes good dynamic groups, but it's not a rule.

Absolutely, I love joining with others that are starting on the same day I am.  That's why I am here.

I'm getting excited for Thursday, I organized my freezer and determined I have enough room for more so I just placed an order with Honest Bison to go with my US Wellness meats already in the freezer.  I ordered a few pantry items I'm low on so I don't get caught in a tight spot and I already subscribe to weekly organic produce so I'm fairly well set and will just need to hit the grocery store for some seafood and perhaps a bit of poultry once in a while.  Yipee!
