dianap01
After suffering with digestive issues for the past 4 months, specifically gastritis and uclers, I am now turning to the Whole30 in dire need of relief. I had never heard of this program until 2 different people suggested it within the same week. So, I bought the book and spent 3 weeks reading and researching everything. As day one approaches, my anxiety level is out of control. I'm not great in the kitchen especially with multiple ingredients, making my first week of meal prepping so overwhelming. Please tell me it gets easier!
Shawnni
It get's easier for sure. I've found, what works for me is preparing ahead of time. My first W30 I spent 6 hours in the kitchen. Like you, I am not great in the kitchen, but with habit and ritual, it gets much easier. As long as I have SOMETHING compliant to get me through the eat all the things/kill all the things I'm OK. I might eat, what others think is, boring but I call it plain as in I might eat 10 of the same meal repeatedly for 30 days but it's well worth not feeling like rubbish every minute of the day and wishing I felt better. I hope this helps you with your tummy issues.
dianap01
Thank you so much! It really helps knowing I'm not alone...especially knowing that someone with my same cooking issues survived! I think keeping my recipes simple is the only thing that will get me through this, well that and not wanting any more stomach pains.
MrsZimm13
Hi- I wish you luck with your W30. You can do it! Just find a few meals you like to start with... grilled, roasted or sautéed chicken breast with veggies Meatloaf, mashed cauliflower Egg salad, fresh cut veggies like pepper, cucumbers, or on top of a salad Tuna salad- put it in lettuce wraps, and serve with cut up veggies Hamburgers Roast up a big batch of frozen veggies- I like cauliflower, carrots, broccoli, drizzled with oil of your choice, add some salt, pepper and garlic powder. It saves a ton of time throughout the week to prep a pan of veggies and eat off of them all week. There are great ideas in the It Starts with Food book where you cook up ground meat and then mix and match veggies. I've not made that, but it sounds easy. dianap01
You are absolutely right, and that's exactly what I did. I started simple. I'll get more complex the further in I get, if need be. Thank you so much for your help!
MrsZimm13
We are here to support one another. It helps you find a friend, even if it's someone on the board you can relate to. I found a friend my last W30 and we actually are doing this W30 together. It's awesome. We motivate each other and we are on the just about the same timeframe. I had to start over after day 3... so I'm 3 days behind. But we root each other on and that's what counts! You got this! Take one day at a time and you can do anything!
