LisaMarie47
Hi gang! This is my first ever Whole30 post! My Whole30 has felt pretty successful so far. I am wearing pants today, on Day 11 that did not fit a week ago! Yay!! What I am struggling with is what feels like excessive lethargy. I am literally out of breath for much of the day. One thing to note is that I was battling a NASTY sinus infection for three weeks that finally cleared up last week. The doctor put me on Prednisone, and my last dose was on Day 1 of my Whole30. Since I had more energy last week than I do this week, I am wondering if it may have been artificial energy from the steroid. Has anyone else has experienced this excessive amount of tiredness by Day 11?
Administrators ladyshanny Posted June 1, 2017 Administrators Share Posted June 1, 2017 I would suspect if you had a sinus infection for three weeks that your body needs to prioritize healing and as such your cardiovascular system is going to be recovering for a while. I wouldn't worry too much about it being Whole30 related so much as standard recovery symptoms from an extended and significant illness. You know when you've had a cold for weeks and you finally start feeling better but carrying a laundry basket up the stairs is a marathon? ya, that. LisaMarie47
Thank you for the feedback, @Ladyshanny! Yep! That's exactly how it feels!
laura_juggles
There's always a dip in energy at the end of a steroid taper. I was on a 6 day prednisone taper a couple weeks back when my ear drum ruptured and the noticeable dip in my energy on day 6/day 1 off them was crazy. You're off the steroids but you're still healing.
