BarbaraMW
So I did well yesterday but I can barely eat so far today. I've never been a "first thing in the morning" breakfast eater, but I've been sitting here forever trying to finish. I made 3 eggs scambled in ghee with broccoli, onions, peppers. Also some olives and fruit. I've only been able to eat about 30% of what's on the plate. Should I just save it for later?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted June 2, 2017 Moderators Share Posted June 2, 2017 Yes, go ahead and set it aside, and if you feel like you could eat some more later, come back to it. If you keep making an effort to eat a meal first thing in the morning, within an hour of waking up, it'll get easier. This article has a little bit of explanation about why we encourage this. Basically, eating first thing in the morning (and ideally getting out into sunshine as soon as possible in the day) will help your cortisol levels act the way they're supposed to -- higher in the morning, and tapering off in the evening -- which will help you wake more easily in the morning and sleep better at night. Yep... wrap it up and take it with out to eat AS SOON AS you feel that you can keep it down... don't save it for lunch... try again in 20 min, 45 min and hour etc... The only way to balance your hormones and get that hungry feeling in the am (which is normal and desired) is to make breakfast, eat as much as you can within an hour of waking and then do the above... it'll only take a couple days and you'll start to feel hungry You haven't said you will, but pre-advice, don't try and make 'notmeal' or 'fauxmeal' or chia pudding to help... that won't help... BarbaraMW
Thanks. Problem is that it's almost noon and in another 45 minutes or so, it will be lunchtime. I'll try to eat it sooner. Guess I just have to work hard at resetting my body clock! Thanks! I appreciate the support!

I appreciate the support! Ya, Meal 1 should be eaten within an hour of waking and if you can't quite get there yet, work toward that.
