allan
I'm about 10 days into a Whole30 and I'm looking for suggestions for energy supplements during endurance training. Specifically, I run and train for marathons and I usually have energy gels every 45 minutes during 2-3 hour runs. As most of these contain sugars or sweeteners, I was wondering if anybody knew of any type of sports drink or gel that is complaint. Thanks! Robin Strathdee
Allan - There are quite a few conversations about this in our Athletes forum. I bet you'll find the answer you're looking for over there :0)
PoisonIvy250
I don't know if you have found an answer in another place by now, but I am also an endurance athlete. I'm on day 16 of the Whole30 now and am in marathon training. I ran 19 miles this past weekend and wasn't sure what to do about the whole energy gel either. What I ended up doing was carrying a Larabar with me in my zipper pouch of my water bottle. I never ended up needing it!!
MtnRunner
I found dates rolled in coconut with a half an almond on top at my grocery store and those are the only ingredients. I used them on a couple long bike rides last weekend and they were delicious and worked great, about 60 calories each.
