NewStart2014
Do you have to cook Prosciutto or is it already cooked? This is something very new to me but I'd like to give it a try. Thanks.
ginsinnot
It's ready to eat. When I first brought some home, I wasn't sure how long it lasted once open. Found some info that seems to suggest about 4 days is best and a week seemed the outer limit. It's pretty delicious, for a special occasion that you want to enjoy but be Whole30, with a little bit of fig. I tried it with dates too but liked the fig better with prosciutto. Kirsteen
It's not actually cooked but it is cured for a very long time which in effect 'cooks' it so it's eaten just the way it is. Enjoy!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted November 14, 2012 Moderators Share Posted November 14, 2012 I've had thin sliced prosciutto open in my refrigerator for several weeks and it seemed fine to me. But I have had food poisoning more than once in my life, so you might not want to trust me.
