Renee
Well the title says it all: I noticed there are trans fats in my canned coconut milk. I have a good quality brand and the ingredients are: coconut milk, water, guar gum. I don't have the nutritional info in front on me but I think there is 0.2g of trans fat per 60ml of coconut milk. Why? How? Is it still healthy?
Susan W
I think you may have misread it and it actually says "saturated fats" which are fine if they come from a good source.
Renee
No, I read twice, and so did my boyfriend. There are (if I remember correctly) 13g of sat. fats. but also 0.2g of TRANS fats.

Renee
That's so weird I might contact the company and see what's up with it. Again, I don't have the can in front of me right now, but I had noticed it a couple of days ago, and my bf texted me today because he noticed it too. I'm not sure I have the organic version. I'll keep you posted...!

Paleo DF
I live in Canada and my Thai Kitchen full fat coconut milk also states .1 grams of trans fats per 60ml. I know our labelling laws are different to the U.S.'s but whether trans fats need to be disclosed in the US or not is still something i'm curious about. I'm calling Thai Kitchen during office hours to find out if they are adding trans fats to their coconut milk.
