DannieElise
Hi Whole30ers!! I'll be running my first marathon on day 8 of my Whole30. I've been training with gels for the last 5-months but I'm concerned about how to fuel now that I'm starting Whole30 tomorrow. Whatare some Whole30 approved ways to fuel pre, during and post race? I welcome all suggestions! Thank you
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted October 1, 2017 Moderators Share Posted October 1, 2017 There are several posts about this, if you google Whole30 marathon you should find them. This one seems to have a fair amount of discussion and tips: One thing to remember is that if this way of eating is very different from what you're used to, your workouts are going to suffer for the first week or two as your body becomes fat adapted. There's a good chance you still won't be running at your very best at eight days in, so consider whether that's okay with you, or if you might want to start Whole30 once you're done with this race. Heidi Staddon
Definitely wait. Your mental readiness is just as important as your physical readiness, especially for your first Full!! im in the exact same boat! My first comes in 14 days, tho While it won't be my first W30, I *have* gotten off track and am really really anxious to get back to it. Alas, my Full takes priority for all of the reasons listed in the program as to why& when starting up should not be prior to an important athletic event. Start with me after!
