Help, I hate coconut aminos!

Hello Wise Ones,

I have finally come to the point of admitting that I just don't like coconut aminos. Every time I open the bottle it makes me feel like gagging. This wouldn't be an issue except that I love Asian food. Missing my soy sauce, miso bragg's. Really want to add some Asian inspired recipes to my Whole 30, but they all call for coconut aminos. Any other soy sauce replacements. Preferably something less sweet, more Umami. TIA for any advice.

when I make Asian inspired dishes, I usually just go for the ginger, chili flakes, maybe some fish sauce... I hardly ever use the aminos...

For me, coconut aminos are like fish sauce; a very little bit goes a long way. I make a sauce of a small bit of coconut aminos, a little fish sauce, some almond butter, a little rice vinegar, some Frank's hot sauce, and toasted sesame oil (so sorry your child can't have that!); mix it up and add it at the end of a stir fry.

The first time I bought coconut aminos, I accidentally bought the garlic flavored kind, and that was really bad. I never did use it; it had a really strong fake garlic flavor. Yuck.
