Administrators ladyshanny Posted November 1, 2017 Administrators Share Posted November 1, 2017 Have you tried googling different Whole30 shepherd's pie recipes? There are tonnes. That said, if you are looking for a shepherd's pie that you can cut into squares and have it not fall over on your plate, you're probably out of luck. Most of the ones out there and that I have made will turn more to "casserole" once you cut into them.
essentiallysuburbanmom
lol I guess I'll have taco meat with potato on top pie after all...thats kind of what I figured, but I thought I would ask in case someone has a great idea for binding it that pinterest hadn't discovered yet
Bellmaestra
One of my favorite sauces is to take homemade stock, and reduce it over high heat until it's thickened and the flavor has intensified. It makes sort of a "gravy." A little tomato paste can also deepen the flavor, or some coconut milk can make it more creamy. (A little late for tonight's supper...) purplepadres
A few egg whites mixed into the potato and/or cauliflower mash will help bind it a bit better. Mel Joulwan's Shepherd's Pie recipe is a frequent flier in my kitchen, and the topping holds up quite well.
