jessheld
This is my first post. I'm on Day 11 now, and I'm really not feeling any big changes at all. I've been following the program to a tee. I've only been out to eat once at a Brazilian steakhouse, so it wasn't hard at all to follow the program. But I've been making all my own food, I haven't been eating after dinner, I've really limited snacking to only if I'm really hungry (I'm pretty thin already so I don't want to lose any more weight). But my sleep is only ok, I do have a husband and 2 year old that have a tendency to wake me 1-2 times a night for one thing or another, but I'm really trying to get my rest. Any thoughts or advice? I started this because my hormones are a bit out of whack, and I've developed PCOS. My doctor put me on Metformin which I just stopped taking a few days ago. I'm really trying to get my cycle back on track so I can have another baby.
AmyS
Congrats on making it this far! What changes were you looking for? Everyone has different things they want to see happen from a Whole30... (Note: Unless you're stopping the Metformin because you and your doc agreed it's the best course of action, you need to stay on it while you're on your Whole30.) kb0426
There are a LOT of factors here that affect when someone feels the love. The way they were eating before, what they are eating now, whether or not they are eating enough, getting enough sleep...I think by day 11 I was still trying to figure out how to tolerate a savory breakfast! The real energy for me kicked in around day 22. For some, it even takes longer than 30 days. AmyS is right about the metformin. I do hope you had a conversation with your physician before stopping it. Keep on keeping on - it WILL get better!
jennrider
I was still trudging through it on day 11. I had some mental shifts around that time, but didn't feel physically better until the third week.
Robin Strathdee
For most people, it takes 2-3 weeks to really begin to pull through the sludge. You have to give your body time to adjust to this new lifestyle and, as everyone's body is different, your mileage may vary. Give it another week and let us know how you feel! Also, I third or fourth the question - Did you consult with your doc before stopping your meds? That's really important in EVERY context. Can't wait to hear more from you! MIIROT
To be honest I don't think people give themselves enough credit! OUR MIND CONTROLS OUR THOUGHTS!! We can do anything we put our minds too. WE all need to remember that.. Funny thing is, I just finished 30 days yesterday and although it really was about how I would feel at the end of the 30 (it's surpassed my expectations) I've lost 11 pounds. I think to myself I probably could have lost more if I didn't intrinsically eating at night.. I know that today.. so TONIGHT, I will make a CONSCIOUS DECISION not to pick on anything extra after dinner.. I know I can do this.. It's what I REALLY WANT!!!! Just remember you can do it!!!!!
