Hello all,

I read It starts with food last night and today.  I feel energized to take on another week.  Doing good so far.  I am going to try salmon cakes for breakfast  this week.  I don't really like salmon.  Has anyone tried them with tuna?

Thanks,

Julie

Day 7!!! Everyone name a non-scale victory (NSV)!!!

i went down one belt notch!

It is easier and easier everyday to say I don’t want junk food.

I have been energized and waking up before my alarm! I had the energy to hit the gym 6 days this week. Also excited that I have tried so many new and healthy recipes that I otherwise wouldn't have tried.

@T2Andrew I have not had any new foods that I can remember but my doctor does think I’m possibly having food allergies of some sort (prior to W30). I’m seeing an allergist on the 11th.

i do feel the stress tension in my neck from work. I am probably overwhelmed at times.

Are you doing better now? What changes did you make?

thank you for your response:)

Medication and awareness worked, but ultimately, changing jobs to a less stressful atmosphere was best.  Looking back, no doubt that a better diet would've helped, but at no time along that diagnostic journey did any specialist suggest diet as part of the equation!

I don't know about salmon cakes, but sometimes I have leftover salmon mixed in with scrambled eggs & veggies for breakfast!

GOOD luck everyone!! I finished my first whole30 on 11/30. I lost 9.6 pounds and 4.5% body fat. I feel much better throughout the day with increased energy, and I sleep better through the night. I have diminished cravings for sweets and carbs and I also have gone down to an almost perfect blood pressure! I also am just more aware of what I am putting into my body, and I have now trained myself to read all food labels to be aware of the added sugars. I highly recommend whole30, not only did I do something rewarding for myself, but the sense of pride and accomplishment I feel for committing to something and sticking with it was definitely worth it.

This is my first Whole30 and I also started on Monday, November 27th.  I am feeling better than I thought I would.  I ate pretty cleanly before I started (very little processed food) but completely cutting out dairy, grains, legumes and my almost daily glass or two of wine has made me feel so much more energetic.  I just had my 42nd birthday last month and I was noticing that I was starting to get bags under my eyes and it was hard for me to wake up early in the morning.  Today I got so many compliments on my skin and I woke up without my alarm!  We are all a third of the way through the program.  We can do it!

Anyone having headaches?  Was feeling great until Day 8.  Woke up with headache yesterday and still have today.  Maybe my body is detoxing?  Sticking with it though.  I know I need to do this for me.   Have a great day all.

Hi everyone! My name is Sunshyne and I started onNovember 27th (my 30th bday) for my first Whole30!  The first week was definitely hard for me as I really missed sweet coffee! However this week I find my sweet cravings are very minimal and drinking GOOD coffee really helps!

NSV for me, my skin has cleared up and my hair is getting thicker and it’s much softer/ less brittle.

How is everyone feeling this week?

@JulesR I am still heachachy daily. I’m not sure if it is stress or detoxing?

Early on, some headaches are pretty normal, but by a week in, they should be starting to get better. Be sure you're drinking plenty of water, salting your food, and eating enough. If you want feedback on your meals, you can post in the Troubleshooting section of the forum with a day or two of typical meals, including approximate portion sizes, any exercise and pre- or post-workout meals, and we can see if anything stands out that might help.

Hello all, almost two weeks down.  I can't believe it.  The headaches stopped after about 4 days.  My skin is glowing.  I am having very regular bowel movements, (TMI), which is good.  I am loving my coffee with a little coconut manna in it.  Sweet potatoes are my new favorite food, second to roasted plantains.  This next week I want to try some new veggies possibly.  I am thinking of doing some zucchini noodles.  Anyone trying any new foods they like?

I love cooking all this great food!  I have made the coconut chicken soup, the roasted pork shoulder, the pot roast, the perfect roast chicken and lots of roasted asparagus, butternut squash, potatoes, & brussel sprouts.  I made avocado oil mayo, vinaigrettes and I love avocado, nuts and olives in my salads.  My family and I are really enjoying all of the great recipes in the Whole30 book.  I am going to get the new recipe book for Christmas.  If you haven't tried the Whole30 recipes yet, you should try them!  They are delicious.

Day 22!  Tiger blood has definitely arrived!!  I have gracefully stayed Whole30 compliant through four restaurant meals, three holiday parties, one kid's birthday party, and a partridge in a pear tree. :)  The holidays are actually a great time to do Whole30 because as a teacher on winter break for two weeks, I have time to cook & eat at home and so many holiday meals are easy to make Whole30 compliant.  My husband and two kids are also eating so much better this month.  With only 8 more days to go, the only thing I really miss is an occasional glass of red wine.  How is everyone else doing?
