Kirsteen
Waitrose do fresh chicken and organic beef stock, called a ladle of stock the ingredients are simply Water, Free range Chicken bones (35%), Onions, Carrot, Bay leaf or Water, beef bones (35%), carrot, onion, tomato concentrate, bay leaf, rosemary, thyme. It's quite handy for emergencies or if you don't have time to make stock yourself.

paleogramma
I agree with Renee about the Well Fed book. Her mayo recipe rocks! As far as how long it lasts...check the expiration date on your eggs. That's how long it will last. Personally, mine is usually long gone by then.:-D
Derval
Nitrates are w30 ok, sulphites are not. If you can check the brand on your saussies I'd appreciate it. Maybe one of our bigger tescos.
the_wendy_house
Aah, they're Debbie & Andrew's but actually it looks as though they have a tiny amount of sulphites in them, which knocks them off the compliant list. If you find out what the compliant brand is then please let me know!
Derval
Ah that IS the brand I'd heard, bummer. I can get some handmade ones in a local farmers market that are ok. Maybe ill get a few packs and freeze them, they are expensive though.

Xandra
Definitely not carrying fruit with me at all times. That would lead to mindless fruit/sugar snacking. My best defense is to make more servings of dinner so that I have leftovers for breakfast and lunch. I always have hard boiled eggs, tuna, homemade mayo and whole roasted chicken on hand. I love buying the tri tip roasts at costco. They are delicious. Susan, how do you cook a tri tip roast?
Susan W
Susan, how do you cook a tri tip roast? Xandra, I rub whatever spices I want on them. I am in a Southwest mood lately so I am using salt, pepper, chipotle chili powder and cumin. Then I roast them at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. They are perfectly medium rare.
