MJam
What is the caffeine content of kombucha? Does the SCOBY eat all the caffeine or is it still left over in the booch? I failed to ponder this BEFORE cracking open and sippings a GT Gingerberry 'booch (so good!). I have been caffeine-free for my Whole30 and now I am curious to know if kombucha has caffeine in it....I mean, it's made with tea. Any 'booch lovers know? Susan W
I just googled it. It depends on how long it's fermented because it does break down in the process. Max amount is 24mg as opposed to 108 in a cup of coffee. They can't put anything on the internet that isn't true. ;0)
MJam
Soooooo I guess I made it to Day 27 caffeine-free, I'm ok with that and I only drank a tiny 3oz glass. It tastes like flavoured water and vinegar had a baby that sat in the sun for days...but in a good way. And OF COURSE everything on the interwebz is true...fact! Susan W
Yeah...I believe everything I read on the internet. Everything. So you only had maybe 10mg of caffein. Childsplay. I did the same thing. I went caffein free for my Whole60 and totally spaced the half bottle of booch I had twice a week.
